Yes, I know its been a while, but we have been a little pre-occupied for the past few weeks and it’s all jolly exciting. 

After a busy summer which, as always, seems to drift unnoticed into September with all its golden goodness of early autumn.  It has to be said, this is my favourite time of year (I say that about every season). Still clinging on to summers late harvest of berries, tomatoes and late lettuce mingling with the first of the autumn squashes, mushrooms and pumpkins, you can create some delicious combinations, all be it for brief moments. 

However, enough romance, winter is here which gives us our prolific array of game from our pot-roasted Colworth partridge to ‘venison’ roly-poly pudding or rough shot Teal all sourced locally and featured on our regularly changing menu. 

Not given to the inevitability of the sparkling red mass which is Christmas, we will be featuring our beautiful Norfolk Black (Sussex) turkey in some guise throughout December, so don’t despair if you haven’t fulfilled your turkey fix.  Amongst our Christmas enjoyments, you will find our vegan mince pies and gluten-free Christmas pudding.
